GIRL SCOUTS OF SOUTHERN APPALACHIANS CELEBRATES COOKIE SEASON WITH THE GREAT COOKIE TASTING

Girl Scouts of the Southern Appalachians celebrated the successful 2025 cookie season with curated craft beer and sweet pairings at Yee-Haw Brewing Co.

 

The second annual Great Cookie Tasting, a flavorful fundraising event on March 25, offered flights of beer expertly paired with signature Girl Scout cookies, commemorative beer glasses, trivia and a vote for the crowd’s favorite pairing. The winning pairing, voted on by participants, was Yee-Haw’s Bananas Foster Ale paired with the Do-si-do, a peanut butter sandwich cookie.

 

“The Great Cookie Competition celebrates cookie season and supports a great cause,” said Lynne Fugate, CEO of the Girl Scout Council of the Southern Appalachians (GSCSA). “The competition and tasting event are so much fun, and all of the proceeds stay within the Council area to enrich program offerings and support camps and community troops.”

 

It costs approximately $750 per girl per year to fund the Girl Scout experience, and about 70 percent of that is covered by cookie sales; the other 30 percent depends on the generosity of donors. Visit here for information on how to support local troops.
