Story and Photography by Marcy Anderson Sanford

The Fostering Hope Gala, was an inspiring evening of generosity and purpose. Attendees enjoyed socializing and perusing silent auction items before dinner, entertainment and inspirational stories about the mission of Fostering Hope TN. Founded in 2013 by the McMichael family of Knoxville, Fostering Hope TN provides backpacks, suitcases and essential supplies to children entering or transitioning through the foster care system. These items offer more than just practical support. They provide hope, dignity and a sense of self-worth to children facing uncertain circumstances. The funds raised will further the nonprofit’s mission to ensure that every child entering foster care has not only what they need, but also the reassurance that their community cares for them.
